1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?: I tried to donate blood.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't think I made one for '08. I still don't know what I'll do for this year, if anything.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? I don't think so.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No, fortunately.
5. What countries did you visit? Only the US of A. I'd give most of my possessions to go to England.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? I wish I could say something besides this: a semi-successful relationship. On a related note, I'd like to gain some semblance of tact involving the ladies. Except that tact isn't the right word for it. Anti-tact is almost more fitting, but still not. Damnit. Whatever.
7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Most of these memories I would prefer to keep secret, for good reasons rather than bad ones.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I honestly believe my biggest achievement was getting over crushes. Not 1, not 2, not even 3, but 4 of them. God I'm lame.
9. What was your biggest failure? Figuring out the meaning of life and not trying to do it.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Worst thing was food poisoning 3 or 4 times. God that sucks.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Final Fantasy 2 for the SNES
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Chris. He finally got rid of his horrible girlfriend, and apologized for being an ass because of her. He's going to the Navy now. I hope things go well for him.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Quite a few people, but it's all been worked out.
14. Where did most of your money go? Car insurance, gas, bills, rent, food.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? A new gaming store opened up. I became good friends with the shop owner. Now he's been practically forced to close down because of a lot of bad things that I really don't want to mention here.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2008? A lot of Motion City Soundtrack songs. One of my crushes gave me a bunch, and I enjoyed a few of them.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i) happier or sadder? I think I'm a bit happier. Not by much. ii) thinner or fatter? I dunno. iii) richer or poorer? About the same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Traveling.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Working I guess.
20. How will you be spending the holidays? Already did all the holiday stuff.
22. Did you fall in love in 2008? Maybe. I don't imagine I'll ever really know what it's like. I think I've felt it before, but I guess when I do I'll just know.
23. How many one night stands? None.
24. What were your favorite TV programs? Scrubs, Heroes, Smallville
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Not really.
26. What was the best book you read? D&D Player's Handbook 3.5 lol I dunno
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Pandora
28. What did you want and get? The Dark Knight
29. What did you want and not get? Ironman, but I got it with Christmas money anyway lol
30. What was your favorite film of this year? There were a couple that tied, I guess I'd say. Sadly nothing really stood above the rest. The Dark Knight was damn good, but so was Ironman. Be Kind Rewind was pretty cool, but so was Yes Man.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Nothing. I turned 21. I am so damn lame.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? If everyone was paid equally at $8/hour and people were given extra money weekly by the government based entirely on how many people who they had personally made happy that day.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? I kept it simple.
34. What kept you sane? Nothing. To be sane is to remain within limits set by the mind.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Robert Downy Jr.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Nothing. I knew Obama was gonna win right away. McCain didn't even have a chance.
37. Who did you miss? Kim. Even when I saw her I was kinda afraid to talk to her. I don't know why. We chatted online a couple times. It was just weird.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Amanda is really cool, but I'm gonna put my vote for Hannah. She's made both Joel's life and my own a bit better.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008: I learned the meaning of life, but you have to ask nicely if you want to know.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: You're gonna go far, kid
By the way I just made shit up for 34. The real answer is my friends and/or the Internet.
